When any data is deleted from Mac computer then that deleted data will move to Trash, which is located on desktop in Macintosh computer. In Windows Operating System if any file is deleted then deleted file will move to Recycle Bin. In the same way in Mac when files or folders are deleted then those deleted files or folders will move to Trash. If any data is deleted accidentally from your computer, then that deleted data can be restored from Trash. After accidental deletion of data if you empty the Trash, then you cannot restore deleted data. However, Mac data recovery can be done using good recovery tool and you can restore accidentally deleted or lost data from Mac computer.
To empty the Trash there are two options namely “Secure Empty Trash” and “Empty Trash”. When you empty the Trash, using “Empty Trash” option then you can recover those deleted files using some good data recovery tool. If trash is emptied using “Secure Empty Trash” then you cannot restore those deleted files using any data recovery tool.
Data loss occurs from Mac computer due to several different instances and some of them are listed here-
- Accidental deletion of data- When any data is deleted from Mac computer using Command + Delete keys combination then that deleted data will not move to Trash. If any important data is deleted accidentally then you cannot restore that deleted data from the Trash.
- Deletion of data by emptying the Trash- After accidental deletion of data from the system, if you empty the Trash then all data will get deleted from Trash.
