Secure way to erase data without affecting the file system of the logical drives

Many of us have learnt that just ‘deleting’ a file does not permanently delete data. No matter if data has been deleted using a ‘Delete’ button, Shift –Del button, emptying the recycle bin or formatting the hard drive the data can still be recovered using any Data Recovery Software.

Then what does ‘delete’ command do?

File system maintains a directory which stores the related information of each files stored on the hard disk.
