Quality data recovery software has recently undergone a major transformation. As hard drives have increased in size most data recovery company products have not revamped their code so as to accommodate the new giant size (one terabyte) drives. Why is this a problem? Until recently most hard drives were in the size range of around one hundred gigabytes. This meant that a data recovery program could usually accomplish deep scan of the entire drive in around 2 hours.
But consider that a deep scan on a 500 GB drive will take 10 hours and you will see that no one wants to wait around for the search to complete. And then consider that the time required to recover the found files is approximately the same and one would need to pitch a tent and camp out beside their computer using these obsolete data recovery tools.
